Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology Small Grant: Cassandra received a monetary award of $4,300 for her project: Who Can Afford to Voice? Examining the Role of Resources in the Employee Voice Process.  

Expanding Horizons Scholarship: Nick received the Expanding Horizons Scholarship of $4,000 from Rice’s Office of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies.

 

Take the Cake 2021 at Rice University: Rice has a tradition of awarding cakes to graduate students for their fellowship awards. Cassandra received two Honorable Mentions for her submissions to the NSF Graduate Research Fellowship Program and the Ford Foundation Predoctoral Fellowship.

Cassandra received the Pre-Dissertation Research Grant from Rice’s Social Sciences Research Institute! This support will help fund a follow-up study for her thesis work entitled, “Who Can Afford to Voice? Examining the Role of Financial Stress in the Employee Voice Process.”

Elisa received the Graduate Student Conference Travel (GSCT) grant from the Social Sciences Research Institute’s (SSRI) to present a project with Cassandra Phetmisy and Dr. King entitled “The power of communication: Alleviating negative employee outcomes during the COVID-19 pandemic” at the Annual Convention of the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology (SIOP) in Seattle, WA.

Dean’s Distinguished Research Award: Dr. Danielle King received the 2022 School of Social Sciences Dean’s distinguished research award. The aim of the SoSS Dean’s Distinguished Research Awards is to recognize excellence in faculty research. Nominations are evaluated on the extent to which the candidate’s work has been (or has the potential to be) transformative in their field, and the extent to which the applicant’s work has garnered national and international recognition.
